Winter Woolies

Thanks so much for all your kind advice on the perishing vinyl jacket, I shall keep wearing it and enjoy it's trashiness.   Much appreciated!!  Muchas gracias amigos!

This coat came from Two very mischievous but exceptionally lovely Squirrels
Check out that lining! And you probably can't see but it has the most enormous button ever! Just one - like all the other buttons felt inferior and got up and left.

If I could put the pictures of the coat together I would.  But will blogger let me?  No it won't.  Am I bothered?  Not in the least.

Ok, Awkward, what to do with the hands...oh well.
Home made velvet 1950's dress. This has to be one of my stinkiest purchases.  Gorgeous, but I suspect it had never been washed in it's 60 odd years- that's a lot of compounding body odour people!  I was really nervous that a wash would ruin it - velvet does not always play fair, but I'm stoked with the result.  And so cosy warm for winter.

You gorgeous girl! I love love love this blue velvet frock and your yummy black coat. You compounded smell comment had me laughing but I'm glad the dress survived the de-stink because it really is perfection on you!

Lovely dress - its beautiful. Your comment about the smell reminded me of the stinkiest garage sale I ever went to....and found a selection of home made dresses from the 1950s. Only one came home with me, and a selection of sewing patterns - but the memory of the smell will remain with me for ever. Glad to read that the jacket is getting lots of wear!

Oh hellz what an incredible coat and frock!!!! Those Squirrels did good to steer that amazing coat your way ... buttons? Who needs buttons anyway? The frock is the most incredibly vibrant shade of blue ... I simply cannot get over it! I realised I was holding my breath when you mentioned its smell issues as I get SO nervous when frocks need a wash ... thank goodness it worked out for you because that perfect velvet number belongs with you!!! xoxoxxo

Ooh yes, the coat is lovely, but it's the dress which is the star: that colour, that fabric, those bows. Just gorgeous! It'll be lovely for winter. xx
