It was so promising

I much prefer warmer weather but at least the cold provides an opportunity to wear winter coats.

First outing for my latest op shop find - Family dinner

 Loving the coat

 From all angles

  Open or shut

 Matches the boots

And the Osti dress

My Grandmother wore Osti - it would have given her a giggle to think it was now one of my favorite 70's labels - it was an inexpensive brand sold at the Farmers Dept Store, but great patterns and colours and polyester all the way - wash and wear heaven.

And then .....

One wear and my new to me $15 jacket was trashed.
Disintegrating vinyl - is there a way back?

Jacket: Vinyl and funny fake fur fabric, metal zip, 70's - $15 - op shopped
Dress: Osti polyester, 70's - $10 Trademe
Boots: 70's platforms - $20 op shopped

Oh no! It's so sad when you buy something and then it falls apart almost immediately. At least you'll have the pictures to remember it by. I love the Osti dress. The print is great.

The dress steals the show for me, but I love how you styled the whole thing! Great coat (boo on the tear away- can a seamstress mend it?) and love the color of your boots. And the dress is perfection for me. Your figure looks rockin' in it.

Everything love. The poor jacket, oh no! It reminds me of what happened to some fave vinyl boots. I wish I had a miracle cure. Wear a sweater over it? It's such a great coat.

Fabulous Osti frock, I love the print, but oh oh oh, what a terrible shame about the coat! Vinyl does perish and flake, I don't know if it's repairable... It looks as though you would have to patch it, if you tried to sew up the rip, it would just fall apart again, I reckon. (Ha, that's me trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about!)
The boots are awesome!
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting, I appreciate it!
Love Curtise xxxx

What a bummer about the coat, it's glorious and shows off your hot bod a treat! Vinyl can perish terribly.

Great coat!! I never get to wear coats here-- it's always hot. Sucks that it ripped! The dress and boots are perfect. I like your dry shampoo idea Becky :)

What a cool outfit - the dress contrasts so well with the coat and the boots. Poo about the jacket - I don't think it could be resurrected unless you were patient and used some pva to stick down the vinyl. You could always try and see what happens. I think Osti dresses are my favourite and I have a fav search on Trademe just for them!!

Ooooh that Osti frock is absolutely GORGEOUS and suits you down to the ground! Shame about the vinyl... there's not much you can do, but appreciate the trashiness of it!

Oh dear, I fear that coat is RIP. What a flippin' nuisance at it fitted you perfectly. Maybe it's a sign that winter will be short...your dress is perfection. Love it! xxx

Hmm sad about the coat.
Can I say the dress with those boots look fantastic. I remember my gran wore Osti as well, but she tended towards the more muted pastel dresses. The pattern and colour of yours is fantastic. I'm going to look for Osti with new expectations.

You look gorgeous doll, adore that jacket, such a shame what happened to it. Not sure how you could fix it. The dress is amazing too. I hope you have a gorgeous week xx

Holy hell!!!! I'm gasping with delight with every single thing you're wearing! You are such a 70s child in that amazing dress and I haven't seen boots like those for years! The coat is beautiful but it simply couldn't cope with your fabulousness and completely fell apart with excitement. This happens to me often. I end up handing the poor wee garment up on the wall so I can admire it from afar, or ... I just wear the damn thing anyway a la Edie Beale ;) xo
